GOLD Academy is the South Bay's premier year-round flag football club and development program, providing elite skill development, competitive opportunities, and high-level instruction from professional coaches.

​

Our Club Teams compete in top local, regional, and national events against some of the best competition in the country. Depending on participation, talent depth, and coaching availability, GOLD may field multiple Club Teams within an age division, creating additional opportunities for athletes to compete and develop at the appropriate level.

Athletes looking to improve their skills, football IQ, athleticism, and confidence can join our GOLD Development Program, which serves as a year-round pathway into the GOLD Club Team system.

How do I join GOLD Academy?

​There are two ways to join GOLD Academy depending on the time of year and an athlete’s current stage of development. Player Evaluations for our Club Teams take place during the summer and fall, while athletes may join the GOLD Development Program at any time for year-round training, skill development, and football IQ instruction.

1) Player Evaluations & Club Team Placement

Player evaluations for our 2026-2027 Club Teams are currently scheduled to take place on July 24th and July 31st at Manhattan Village Field from 6:30–8:00 PM. Additional evaluation opportunities will be offered later this summer and fall.

GOLD Club Teams are selected through player evaluations and compete throughout the season in tournaments and league play. Depending on participation, talent depth, and coaching availability, some divisions may field two Club teams, Surf and Sun:

GOLD Surf 🌊

Our Surf teams compete at the highest available level, including CALFLAG Gold Division play, premier local tournaments, and select regional and national events.

GOLD Sun ☀️

Our Sun teams compete in CALFLAG Silver Division play and local tournaments, providing athletes with meaningful game experience and competitive opportunities while continuing their development within the GOLD system.

2) GOLD Development Program

Athletes may join the GOLD Development Program at any time throughout the year.

​

Athletes in the GOLD Development Program train with our professional coaching staff and focus on skill development, football IQ, athletic development, and confidence building in a positive and competitive environment.

Athletes in the GOLD Development Program are evaluated throughout the season and may be considered for future Club Team opportunities as roster needs arise.

When is the Club Season?

The Club Season runs November through June. We offer our Offseason Development Program July through October.

What is the Offseason Development Program schedule and how do I sign up?

Our Offseason Development Program runs July through October. Below is our current schedule:

Tuesdays: 4:00 - 5:00pm @ Manhattan Village Field

Fridays: 5:00 - 6:30pm @ Manhattan Village Field

 

We offer monthly subscription and drop-in options.

How many tournaments do the Club Teams participate in and where are they located?

The Club Teams compete in at least one tournament per month from November through June.
Most tournaments are held in Southern California, with additional travel to Arizona, Nevada, and other regions depending on tournament locations and interest.

What is the format of the travel tournaments?

The Club Teams compete in 5v5 and 7v7 (no-blocking) formats, following the rules and regulations of each tournament.

What is the cost to join GOLD Academy?

The cost to join GOLD Academy is currently $250/month. This includes two practices per week with professional coaches. Additional costs for Club Team athletes may include:

​

• Uniform Package: $250 (includes home/away jerseys, shorts, other equipment)

• Tournament Fees: Approximately $75-$150 per player, per tournament

• Travel & Lodging: Costs vary based on location and event

Can my child still play in the BCS Rec League?
Yes! We encourage athletes to continue playing in the BCS Rec League. GOLD Academy is designed to complement Rec League play, offering additional opportunities for development and competition.​
